Happy Almost Birthday Max!
So tonight we're going to the Outback. This is our first year of Max wanting to go "out" for his birthday dinner. Up until now, it's been hamburgers and Kraft Macaroni & Cheese (the kind with the powder cheese only.)
So now we're waiting for Maggie to come home from her job, which she needs because she has a car loan and is getting ready to graduate from high school and go to college.
We went and got her prom dress the day before yesterday. For all my hemming and hawing and griping and bitching, she got what she wanted, without a fight from me. I was ready to plunk down $580 for the first dress....but then we found another one, more suitable for her, for less, plus we found shoes and got out of there for about $500. I think Maggie was surprised that I was going to go ahead and get the expensive dress....especially after all my talk about "how it's not a wedding", "my wedding dress only cost $400", blah, blah, blah. But when it came down to it, I just wanted her to be happy, and to remember this.
Boy, do I feel old.
